Brittany is a marketing intern at Foreign Translations, Inc. and recently graduated from University of South Carolina in May 2011. She obtained a Bachelors degree in Advertising with a minor in Psychology. Her favorite classes included Women’s Studies and Creative Advertising. In her Creative Advertising class she and partner, Julie Canter, created an ad campaign for the BBQ brand “Road Kill”. Hers was the only class group to establish a working relationship with the parent company and as a result, Road Kill bought the ad campaign created by these two talented students.

Club volleyball and intramural softball and volleyball were frequent activities for Brittany during her time at USC. She also helped manage the USC Swim and Diving teams which helped her more appreciate the sport, adding that the Swim team works year round, unlike many other sports, such as football, which are only seasonal.  

Brittany has not yet traveled abroad, but says her future goals include working in Paris or London for a marketing and advertising firm, aiming for her top choice of L’Oreal. She is learning French in to improve her business opportunities and understanding of French culture. Using LinkedIn, Brittany researches companies in the UK and France, and has found that French and German are second languages most in demand for marketing and advertising firms.

During her time at Foreign Translations, Inc. Brittany has learned a lot. In fact, the most interesting tools she’s learned include the “Google Keywords” tool through Ad words, Google analytics, and Visistat. Although initially she didn’t expect to be doing much research, she has enjoyed the opportunity to directly help the company with website content and online marketing strategies. Brittany feels her ideas are valued and that the company, as a whole, respects fresh ideas and a willingness to learn.

In her spare time, Brittany enjoys spending time at Lake Jocassee close to home, and playing with her three-legged Pomeranian who enjoys running after deer, chasing butterflies, and eating wood, bugs, and frogs.
