Businesses are investing money in travel packages and linguistic training for the 2014 Brazil World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics. These two sporting events join together peoples of all languages and cultures and boost businesses and countries with the influx of tourism and sports fans.

All the soccer (football) and sports fans are excited as much as Brazil, host of the second consecutive FIFA World Cup 2014 and the 2016 Summer Olympics. Brazil claimed victory winning two of the greatest international sporting events and is truly “going hard” and investing USD $86 billion to renovate the country and build landmarks to attract and accommodate all types of tourists. In the media recently with news of the Brazilian Real increasing in value and enjoying one of the world’s largest economies, it’s no wonder that Brazil is hoping to showcase its economic wealth through the 2014 Brazil World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics. With plans for stadiums in 12 cities to host the games of the World Cup 2014 instead of the usual 8-10 according to FIFA World Cup Rules, Brazil will be a hard act to follow.

Brazil created the World Cup Program to train employees and prepare companies and destinations, involving businesses in food and lodging, airport reception services, and security for tourism. Approximately 320,000 professionals in the 12 host cities and in other destinations prioritized in the program are scheduled for this training. There are also plans to incorporate tourist information centers into restaurants and related businesses where travelers can obtain information like guidebooks, leaflets, Wi-Fi internet connections, and other sources. Hosting the 2014 Brazil World Cup and the Olympics 2016 in Brazil will most certainly create new jobs; it will also develop workers with valuable bilingual and multilingual skills. For the 2014 Brazil World Cup and the Olympics 2016 in Brazil, the government created the ‘Hello Tourist’ program offering 80,000 sites for Brazil’s citizens to take the free online courses. With courses teaching English and Spanish, students, individual entrepreneurs, and workers in the tourism sector are offered a unique opportunity for personal and professional development. This is especially important as English is the dominating language in tourism and many soccer fans speak Spanish. Brazil hopes that these specialized accommodations for tourists will boost its economy and bring ever more foreign revenue and glory to the country.

Because of the excitement over these upcoming world class sporting events, the 2014 Brazil World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics, travel agencies around the globe are offering specialized World Cup 2014 travel packages. Roadtrips, a Canadian company, has been advertising World Cup 2014 travel packages such as: World Cup Experience, World Cup Finals Packages, and World Cup Mexico. Each package includes a different experience tailored to various consumers all over the world. With prices ranging from $1000 to $5000, these World Cup 2014 Brazil travel packages offer tours along the Amazon River, airfare and transfers, buses to the World Cup 2014 stadiums, and on-site multilingual hosts (Spanish, Portuguese, and English). As the dates draw closer for these internationally reknowned events, the 2014 Brazil World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics, countries from different language backgrounds are hoping for hometown fans and victory to bring pride and fame as well as economic wealth.
